About This Site

DIY Sermon Outlines began in December 2007. The site now has an archive of a few hundred sermon outlines with more added each week. Feel free to take these outlines, expand upon them, and preach them yourself.

Originally, my intention for this site was strictly to help generate ideas, particularly during periods of “preacher’s block” when it is difficult to come up with a topic to preach. So early on, I deliberately left the outlines very brief – just the main points and primary passages. If you look at the older posts, you will see just how brief they were. That was why I chose the name DIY Sermon Outlines. If you were to prepare to preach one of the outlines, you would really have to do it yourself.

As time went on, I decided to include more detailed outlines. My reason for doing this was so that the outlines could be more than just a potential idea for sermons. I wanted each outline to be a stand-alone resource that would concisely teach the message that was delivered when it was preached. This way, the material would not only useful for preachers and teachers, but also for all people seeking to learn what the Bible teaches on a particular topic.

I hope the material on this site is helpful to you. Be sure to subscribe so that you can be notified when new material is added. You can also follow DIY Sermon Outlines on Facebook and Twitter.

About Me

avatar-aug2013My name is Andy Sochor. I live in Bowling Green, KY with my wife and five kids. I preach for the Eastside church of Christ in Morgantown, KY.

I am also the editor of Plain Bible Teaching – a site I started in 2005 where I regularly post new articles and send out a weekly newsletter containing articles, sermon outlines, and links to helpful Bible materials and notable current events. I also have my Notes & Observations blog where I post multi-part studies which are usually taken from a series of sermons I have preached or a Bible class I have taught. In addition to these, I have written and published a few books through Gospel Armory – a publishing company I started in 2010. You can follow the links to check out any of those sites.
