Why Was She Punished? Disobedience (Genesis 19:17)
Possible Motives that We Must Guard Ourselves From:
- Being too close to the people of the world (James 4:4)
- Being too attached to the riches of this world (1 Timothy 6:10)
- Being too comfortable in one’s circumstances (Luke 9:23)
- Not understanding God’s instructions (Hosea 4:6)
- Curiosity of that which is prohibited (1 Peter 4:3)
- Having a rebellious spirit (1 Samuel 15:23)
Application for Us Today
- Follow God and don’t turn back (Luke 9:62)
- Be willing to give up family & friends (Matthew 10:34-37)
- Be willing to sacrifice material possessions (Matthew 19:21)
- Be willing to suffer hardship (1 Peter 4:12-16)
