Shortcuts to Bible Study

Methods some people use to avoid having to study the Bible:

Use your own common sense – Jeremiah 10:23; Proverbs 14:12

Follow the majority – Matthew 7:13-14

Believe what your family believes – Matthew 10:34-37; Luke 16:27-28

Do what you’ve always done – Matthew 15:1-9

Follow well-known / well-respected preachers – 1 Corinthians 4:6; Acts 17:11

How we must study the Bible:

Recognize our individual responsibility – 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Corinthians 5:10

Make time to study

Study with an open mind – James 1:21

Seek to apply what we learn – James 1:22
